Apparently, in blogland, it is customary to have a giveaway in honor of your 100th blog post. Well, here I have blogged 100 times. Well, la-di-da. While my blog is still in its formative stage and still trying to decide what it wants to be when it grows up, kinda like me, I am still going to host a giveaway. Leave a comment and be entered to win a skein of handspun yarn from local sheep and plant-dyed. It doesn't get any better than that. If you don't knit, maybe I can send you a creation mandala print. Winner will be announced a week from today (next Monday)
Now, an excerpt from a poem by May Sarton:
It is time for the invocation:
Kali, be with us.
Violence, destruction, receive our homage.
Help us to bring darkness into the light,
To lift out the pain, the anger,
Where it can be seen for what it is—
The balance-wheel for our vulnerable, aching love.
Put the wild hunger where it belongs,
Within the act of creation,
Crude power that forges a balance
Between hate and love.
Help us to be the always hopeful
Gardeners of the spirit
Who know that without darkness
Nothing comes to birth
As without light
Bear the roots in mind,
You, the dark one, Kali,
